Day Four: The Corvette and The North Shore

We decided to set aside a tad big extra on our car rental day to get a Corvette convertible for cruising around the island. This was by far our favorite day. We dressed with possible beaches in mind and stopped many times to look at sights, grab a snack, and even play put put. Jonathon was like a kid in a candy store driving that thing. It was so much fun! This was also the day we had the famous Hawaiian Shave Ice. It has a scoop of ice cream at the bottom which made it so much better than a regular shave ice. :)

Day Three: USS Missouri/USS Arizona/Pacific Aviation Museum/Dole Plantation

This was our "learning day." We spent a better part of the day at Pearl Harbor/Ford Island learning about the historical events of the island. It was really an interesting day. It's amazing to me how somber the USS Arizona platform was. People would be laughing and joking on the boat on the way to the the platform but it was very solemn from the moment we stepped off the boat until it was time to board again. We finished up the day at The Dole Plantation with a train ride through the produce fields. I love pineapple so I had to make this a must see for us. We had pineapple ice cream with crushed pineapple as a topping. It was delicious.

Day Two: Beach/Nap/Beach/Nap/Italian Dinner

We only took one picture on this day right after our AMAZING Italian dinner. Jonathon loves Italian so we had to add Sergio's to our list of places to eat. We took the suggestions of our waitress and she was right on. The two dishes we had were incredible.

Day One: Beach/Army Museum/Luau

Okay, I'm way too lazy to post all of my pictures. I can't stand how slow blogspot is with the picture posting. I'm going to do a small post about each day and just include some highlight pics. On our first day we just explored the beach and resort to see what our options were going to be for the week. We just happened upon the US Army Museum so that was a neat addition. The Luau was so much fun. We took a shuttle bus about twenty minutes away and had a very entertaining bus guide who called herself "Cousin Flo." We ran into her later in the week and she hugged and kissed on us like we were really family. Fun!

Trying to Post Pictures....

Is there any easy way to post a bunch of pictures at once?????

Hawaii Bound....

We are off to the airport to begin the hours and hours of flight time to Hawaii. I woke up so giddy this morning. I've been bouncing around the house like Tiger!! Jonathon has been calmly preparing. We are so different. ;) I'm ashamed to admit that my suitcase weighs the same as the one I packed this summer for six weeks in Africa. I know I won't wear half of what I brought but a girl just never knows what she might need! Jonathon on the other hand just told me, "I packed BOTH pairs of shorts." What?!?!? Again, we are so different. ;) I love you, babe! Thanks for taking me to Hawaii!!!

Captain, My Captain...

Jonathon pinned on Captain this weekend at his drill weekend. They let his family come in for the fine minute ceremony to snap pictures then it was back to business for the unit. Here are some pictures....

I'm so proud of him!

Maddie's Day with KK

Maddie and I had a date for her birthday a couple weeks ago. We started out going to see Alvin and the Chipmunks. It was really cute. I've had "All the single ladies...." in my head ever since. It was fun to see Maddie laugh at the funny parts.

Our next stop was Target. I gave her ten dollars to spend. She never got past the $1 bin and bought two items each for her family members. She has the sweetest heart. I love how she just wants everyone to be happy. :)

I let her choose where she wanted to eat and she chose Bob Evans. I thought that was an odd request from a kiddo but she said she had never been there before....fair enough. She enjoyed it and so did I. I love spending time with her!!!
